Why is the moon upside down?

Niko & Ani had known each other since they were in kohanga. Their families lived next door to each other, and they often used to stay at each others place. As Niko and Ani got older, they’re camp out in the deck. They always used to stare up at the Moon and the stars, and talk about what would they do when they get out of school and travel around the world.

There’s something wrong with the Moon. It just looks weird. It’s not the same. Maybe it’s a different one. When I stand outside and look at it, the shadows are in the wrong place. Rona’s upside down .So is the ngaio tree. i know, Rona’s not standing on top of her head. That will make her more angrier. Ani and Niko had an idea to search what is wrong with the moon. They would take some photo’s of the moon and send it to each other. Ani’s camera couldn't zoom in that much so it didn't work to well. But then she had a thought. They will draw some pictures of the moon and then send it to each other.

What do the diagrams tell us?
The diagram tells us that each of the moon has different kinds of angles and that it isn't two separated moons. Ani discovered that Niko’s new moon was a backwards C shape and her’s was a normal C shape. Niko lives in New Zealand and Ani is in Japan, and they can see from different directions. Because of that, Japan is on top of New Zealand and Japan can see Marama the Moon from the top. Niko can see the Moon from below.

  1. Htawara, I am a student in EDM310 at the University of South Alabama. I want you to know that I really like your post. I never thought the moon as being "upside down", or that people in other parts of the world see it differently. This is a great post!
